Never Be Content

So, sorry I am a little behind on the weekly notes. Had mid-terms this week and by no means was Mrs. Ernst’s merciful.

So I was thinking what I wanted to write for this new note and I could not figure it out. First off, I decided that I was not going to do something Christmas related because I know you will hear something along those lines at least once in the next few days. So, it left me with nothing and then I got to talking with a recently met friend and she kind of sparked a thought in my head. The thing she said was something that I hear from every Christian, no matter where they are in their Christian walk.

Okay, so most of my notes I leave you with a challenge and this one is  not really that style or that kind of message but more of something to pick your brain. This is my stand on all of this:

Okay so you might be wondering what this girl said that got me thinking. Okay, so I am texting my friend back and forth and I ask her about her relationship with Christ and I get the usual response from Christians. “I am a Christian and I love God, but I am not where I want to be.” (Now first off this girl is a great Christian girl before I make her out to be any different ha.) Well, whenever I hear this, I think that it is a great thing. You might ask why? And you probably do not understand but this is why I think this:

Okay, the reason that I think it is awesome that this girl is not where she wants to be is because she is not satisfied where she is now. Okay, this is the way that I see it. In our Christian walk, it is a journey. A journey that ends in heaven with our Lord and Savior. It’s a journey that we will never reach what we are asked to. We are asked to strive to be that of Christ. We are called to be like Christ. And in reality, that will never happen. But that does not mean that we should not try. In our Christian walk, we should always strive to be like Him. We should never become content with anything less. That is why I like when people are not satisfied with where they are because when we become content that is when we are miles behind where we need to be.

God tells us that we are supposed to be like Christ and like I said it is an impossible feat. We all fall short of our goal. But because of God’s mercy, grace, and sacrifice we will be in heaven with Him.

So like I said just something to pick your brain. SO I challenge you to not be satisfied with where you are in you Christian walk because I promise you everyone needs improvement. Yes, that includes your Billy Grahams, preachers, priests, your Oprahs. Everyone needs improvement in their life. So, do not be content with your relationship with God because the closer you get to Him the more you will love Him. Always strive to be greater and never be content.

(You knew I would have to use a challenge of some sort)

Merry Christmas. Don’t forget the reason for the holidays.
